From NYC. In the tradition of the great Buckminster Fuller, Buckminster is comprised of a trio of wind players specializing in dead serious sonic hilarity.
Barely audible breathy flutters. Referee whistles. Spoken word. Strict composition. Free improvisation. Extended technique. Distended technique. Geodesic skirl. The audible incarnation of Bucky himself. Buckminster.

“The drummer Matt Wilson is an ambassador of good feeling, and with “That’s Gonna Leave a Mark” (Palmetto), he doubled down on this band’s commitment to rugged post-bop populism.”  New York Times
‘There are a few more emphatically dazzling drummers working today, but almost nobody in Wilson’s peer group with a broader sense of jazz history, or a more natural sense of time, or a stronger signature as a bandleader, or more goodwill among his fellow players.”   Nate Chinen, JazzTimes

“People play music because it’s supposed to be fun. Some tend to forget this lesson, but thankfully we have the Matt Wilson Quartet to remind us when we lose our way”           Tad Hendrickson AOL Spinner
